Enjoy! Enjoy the beauty. Enjoy the activities. Enjoy the rich historical heritage of
Salacoa Creek Park. Salacoa Creek Park offers all of the amenities of a truly fine

Park even offers more.
Salacoa Creek Park lies within the original bounds of the Cherokee Nation. In fact, it
is just minutes away from New Echota,
the capital of the Cherokee Nation in the early 1800's. It was at New Echota that the
Cherokee held court, printed their bilingual newspaper and formed a government fashioned
after the U.S. government. Vistors to Salacoa Creek Park will enjoy visiting the restored
Cherokee buildings as well as the interpretive museum.
