Salacoa Creek Park lies within the original bounds of the Cherokee Nation. In fact, it
is just minutes away from New Echota,
the capital of the Cherokee Nation in the early 1800's. It was at New Echota that the
Cherokee held court, printed their bilingual newspaper and formed a government fashioned
after the U.S. government. Vistors to Salacoa Creek Park will enjoy visiting the restored
Cherokee buildings as well as the interpretive museum.
Nestled in the rolling hills of Northwest Georgia, Salacoa Creek Park is the mid-point
between Chattanooga and Atlanta. It is
conveniently located minutes from exit 130 off I-75. Nearby are quality restaurants, golf
courses, shopping, antiquing, and superb hotel accommodations. Outstanding entertainment
is offered right down the road at "Concerts in The Country" Music Park. Come
enjoy the beauty and convenience of Salacoa Creek Park.

permitted on the lake swimming area. However, in order to maintain the beauty and safety
of the beach area, no food or glass containers are permitted on the beach or beach area.
